Omeprazole (cap: Base; inj: Na lyophilized)
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer; erosive reflux esophagitis. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap Duodenal ulcer 20 mg once daily for 4 wk. Benign gastric ulcer 20 mg once daily for 8 wk. Severe cases: 40 mg once daily. Erosive reflux esophagitis 20 mg once daily for 4 wk. Continue for further 4-8 wk if not healed. Patient refractory to other therapy: 20 mg once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 60 mg once daily. Inj Usual dose: 40 mg once daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately before a meal.
Special Precautions
Exclude possibility of malignancy before treatment. Impaired hepatic function. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache; GI disturbances eg, mild & transient nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation; skin reactions, vomiting, URTI, vertigo, rash, cough, asthenia, low back pain.
Drug Interactions
Delay elimination of diazepam, phenytoin, warfarin.
